We need courage and compassion right now.
I wrote notes to myself when I didn't know how long I had to live.
I hope this encourages you.
Notes To Myself
It is said, There's a pearl of light in our suffering, if we dare break open the husk.
*You aren't defined by cancer.
*Self-care is huge.
*Meditate and practice stillness and breathwork.
*Don't ever stop building your support system.
*Get good counseling.
*Take care of those who take care of you.
*Learn how to handle those who mean well, but ruin your day.
*Follow your gut. Don't let every Tom, Dick, and Harry knock you off your game by giving you their quick fix.
*Receive help and wisdom from those who are going through or have been through cancer.
*Stay ahead of your pain.
*Remember life is a terminal disease, so be good to each other.
*Cultivate joy. Joy Is Your Greatest Ally.
*Discover why cancer doesn't define, limit, or crush your spirit.
*There is no new normal. Our lives have been blown up. There's nothing normal about having cancer.
*Find your rhythm where you can.
*Find your sweet spot, your center, where you thrive in the midst of chaos. Yes, it's fleeting, and it's hard, but two seconds of peace, of absolute stillness, is an eternity breathing life into your soul.
*Cherish those you love.
What have you learned that works for you?
With all my love and compassion,
